Methyltetrazine-PEG4-Sulfo-NHS Ester enables simple and efficient labeling of antibodies, proteins and any other primary amine-containing macromolecules in aqueous media. The hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer arm imparts water solubility that is transferred to the labeled molecule, thus reducing aggregation of labeled proteins stored in solution. Specific labeling of cell surface proteins is another common application for these uniquely water-soluble and membrane impermeable reagents.
